Introducing the All-New 2015 Defy Advanced SL

New Defy Endurance Road Range A Big Hit With Media!

29 July 2014

Earlier this month, Giant launched the all-new 2015 Defy range of endurance road bikes at a global media event in Scotland. Coverage of the new bikes, including tech stories and first ride reviews, has already been appearing in media outlets around the world.

The initial reviews of the Defy range has been overwhelmingly positive. For example, in its “First Look” at the Defy Advanced SL, Bicycling.com reported that the bike is “confident feeling in nearly every situation.”

“At speed, it’s stable,” wrote Bicycling editor Joe Lindsey, pointing to the geometry and the new disc-brake technology. “But I was able to make quick and assured line changes in unfamiliar terrain to adjust for situations like gravel on the centerline or broken pavement.”

Cyclingnews.com wrote that the new Defy Advanced SL “blurs the lines even further between what many riders might expect from a ‘race bike’ and a so-called ‘endurance bike.”

Cyclingnews.com editor James Huang continued: “The more sharply engineering-centric frame shapes are still less than 900 grams—a number many dedicated competition frames struggle to hit.”
